Melissa Buck

Melissa was born and raised in a small town in Upstate New York, and graduated summa cum laude from Elmira College with a degree in Anthropology and Sociology. She studied abroad in the Galapagos Islands and Brazil. After college, She moved to North Carolina to escape the snowy winters of New York, and applied to Elon University School of Law after seeing news stories about immigrants being banned from entry into the U.S. during the last administration.

At Elon Law, Melissa was a member of the Criminal Law Society, the Public Interest Law Society, and the Community Inclusion Committee. She interned at the school's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, providing legal services to low-income refugees and asylum seekers.

She and her boyfriend have five cats: Lola, Ruth, Marshall, Brett, and Mr. Rogers.
